Thank you Dave for the blog. It has helped explain how to make a materials list and present it customer's. Seeing how they used peg board on the doors has given me some ideas for future projects of my own.
Hey Dave, good tips on estimating and creating a spread sheet. A family member owns a small demolition company and estimates have been a big learning experience for them. It is one of the most challenging concepts when starting a small business. The Slideshow has some great templates for creating an excel spread sheet.

Thanks for sharing your blog Dave. The storage video was great and reminded me of a shadow box I built on my work term. Using peg board on the inside of the doors is a great way to organize your smaller hand tools. I will probably end up building one of these for myself in the near future! As for the excel presentation- I have some experience with it however it's been awhile since I've used it. By watching the video it refreshed it in my mind and its all coming back to me now. Thank you for sharing!
good video, I would of done something's a bit differently but he seemed to know what he was doing. I would of made the door out of glass with a wood frame. I liked his techniques like his table saw cuts. thank you for sharing.
Great video! overall its a good cabinet but if i were to build it i would have put a place for battery chargers to go, may on a shelf of hang on the inside of the door. thanks for sharing it with us.
Hey, great video. I like the way they mounted the standard flush instead of on the surface. Also, it was a great practice for making a list of materials.
I thought the peg board was a great idea, adds for more storage on the outside of the cabinet. the guys knew what they were talking about and it showed from the start of the project. The templates are also layed out neat and easy to read.
Hey Dave, great blog i liked the idea of the storage cabinet especially the peg board for storage on the inside and out. saw how they forgot to use a push stick wile making the cabinet. that's not safe!! Also saw how to make a materials spread sheet. Awesome blog!
hey good video , but I would have used a hardwood material instead of peg board , its much more sturdy and has a better look to it , quality work is always best
hey great blog, i like the video on the tool storage cabinet, liked the idea of using shelf standards for adjustable shelf's instead of putting something permanent & using beg board to put tools on the front.
David, your blog is direct and straight to the point which I believe is efficient and helps simplify what you have to say. I enjoyed the example of the excel worksheet as I have little to no experience with this program, I thought the post with the material list provides a realistic example of a materials list. The cabinet storage video is also highly useful because almost everyone has some sort of tools and/or storage issues and is a common solution to solving those issues. -Alex T-

ReplyDeleteThe Cabinet was good except for the doors. you can put pegs on the inside of a nice thick door. no need to use pegboard. that's some cheap S*&T
